Come join us for the Space Apps 2024 Kyzylorda Event! On the territory of this region is the Baikonur Cosmodrome, from which Yuri Gagarin made his first flight into space in 1961. I think it will be interesting with our collaboration to hold a Space Apps hackathon in this space region for the first time:) Be a part of an awesome and engaging community working together to address major challenges in space and on Earth.

YOUR LOCAL LEAD

Im Vlad Zatolokin - the Local Lead for the NASA Space Apps in Kyzylorda, Kazakhstan. I’ll be available from now until the end of the hackathon to answer your questions, connect you to resources, and help you find teammates. FIND ANSWERS TO YOUR SPACE APPS QUESTIONS

Find basic information to guide your Space Apps journey under the “General Information” tab (above). You can also check out the Participant FAQ and other guides (on Space Apps Chat, team formation, project submission, etc.), once they are available. All guides will be posted on the Resources page.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Starting mid-July, you can for the Space Apps Kyzylorda Event by selecting "Event Registration" under the “Explore the Hackathon” tab.

2. Familiarize yourself with the Space Apps Resources. Start with the Participant FAQ..

3. Once you’ve registered, keep an eye out in your Space Apps inbox for messages from me, Vladimir, your Space Apps Kyzylorda Lead. (Login to your account, and select “My Account” in the menu bar. You’ll see a link to “Communications” on the right-hand side.) I will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

4. If you are 18 or older, feel free to log in the week prior to the hackathon to join the Space Apps Chat! You may also start forming teams a week before the hackathon begins with your friends, by connecting with other participants in Chat, or using the Team Finder tool. You will be able to form a team from members of any location or create a team with other members of the Space Apps Kyzylorda Event. More information on these items coming soon!

PROJECT SUBMISSION DEADLINES FOR UNIVERSAL EVENT TEAMS

The submission deadline is October 6 at 11:59 PM local time, according to the team's creator (so if that's you, that's 11:59 PM your time). If someone else created your team, you need to submit the project by October 6 at 11:59 PM their time.
