🪐 Join the NASA International Space Apps Challenge in Gothenburg! ☄️

🚀 Local Event

NASA International Space Apps Challenge is the largest annual hackathon on the planet, open and free for any and all space enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds!

Participants form teams of 1-6 people and address one of the several challenges that will be published by NASA Space Apps before the event. No matter if you are an engineer, a scientist, a designer, a writer, an artist, or anything else or in between, you will find a challenge right for your skills and your team!

This year, Gothenburg will host an in-person Local Event offering to up to 100 participants the chance to take part in NASA Space Apps while being in a fun and stimulating environment, and where Mentors and Speakers from sponsoring companies and institutions offer their advice and give keynotes.

Shine like the Sun! ☀️ This year's theme is "The Sun Touches Everything", to celebrate the Sun’s influence on Earth and the entire solar system. Read more here.
Tackle your chosen challenge using real space data: NASA and many partnering Space Agencies will provide access to data collected by space satellites and instruments. Challenge summaries are available here.
But don't forget the power of creativity: stimulate inspiration and encourage out-of-the-box thinking by joining forces with people with different backgrounds. Team formation opens on August 22.
For Space, for Science, but also for the win! After submission, between 1 and 3 projects will be selected to be evaluated by NASA Space Apps' Global Judges, who will elect 10 award winners! The prize? Being invited to a Ceremony next year at NASA's HQ!
And remember to have a great time! Engage with other participants, learn something new, and enjoy our "space gift": on the first day of the event (October 5), NASA Space Apps participants at the Gothenburg Local Event will be offered an exclusive showing at Universeum of "Vast 3D - A Cosmic Journey Through Time and Space", a 3D visualization of how unfathomably large space is, completely based on real astronomical data!
